{reflections}:2 weeks of spring is a blessing, and a real challenge. Balancing making a living with single parent mothering is the biggest juggling act I've ever done - and I only have one child! As my son - and the children in our community - grow up and enter the tween and teen years - it's a whole other set of positive parenting choices. Part of modeling democracy in our families - which is simply modeling both love & respect or Kindness with Firmness at the same time - is being able to accept the challenges of being both a kid and a grown-up today. It's wayyyyy hard to be human these days. What's the solution? We are called to both fully accept life as it is - while also acting in a way to move us forward into a better future.... While also being present in the moment. It's a lot!! And if you're feeling overwhelmed, know you're not alone. We're all struggling in one way or another. And we're all working towards our own unique place of balance of both love & respect - which is why my coaching program is called The Love + Respect Program. Writing last week's {sunday message} inspired me to step up into a whole other level of accountability and personal responsibility to live more in the moment and love the now in both parenting and teaching - and let the rest go. Because I'm pretty firey by nature - and hyper and mean when I'm out of balance - I dedicated myself to QTipping anything and everything that takes me out of my present moment this past week. It's amazingly difficult to consciously work towards letting go of carrying any negativity within. What does thriving as a parent mean? It means our everyday self lives in connection with our Highest Self. And our Highest Self is the one calling the shots. So that when life is stressful (Like 23/24 hours a day lol. Seriously, I even feel like my sleep is stressful these days.) - we consciously LET IT GO. We see the stress, we accept that in this moment - the stress is indeed happening. We have love + respect for ourselves, our children and the situation - and we positively act in response to the stress as if our Highest Self is guiding our everyday self to transform the stress and challenges. So this Spring Break 2019, I embarked on QTipping to strength my connection with my highest self. As challenging as it is, I can honestly say I have never felt more calm and in the moment. If you'd like to join me in letting go of stress, challenges, and misbehavior and stepping into your place of Compassion for your everyday self to live in Connection with your Highest Self - let's hop on the phone and chat! Mama Megan
Hi friends, I write from the heart to tell my life story, and the story of those in my neighborhood called life. Research shows that our children's emotional & mental health is contingent upon us parents being able to tell our life story, or "coherent narrative." This is my coherent narrative, my life story in the making, with some of what I love in life too. My goal is to share my life in a way that is real, uplifting & positive- sometimes serious, sometimes fun. In my practice, I inspire parents to empowerment through reclaiming our life stories and learning respectful discipline. My work is my offering to our children- our future. Wishing you all a happy family! Archives
