so here we are in pre holiday bliss i always get a little barometer preview of where my son is at in terms of giving + receiving materialism + commercialism after his birthday we had such a beautiful 10th birthday celebration (thank you for all the sweet wishes) then it didn't end the festivities lasted a whole week... we had family in town (which was grand) we celebrated his real birthday a couple days later then our annual wonderfully fun school fundraiser was the same week somewhere in the middle i no longer had a child i had a puddle of tears of over-stimulation of too much sugar + not enough sleep of missing family we love who live farther away than we'd like and of too.many.toys. so it's not fair for me to blame too much birthday just on too many toys in fact he was blessed with wonderful + educational toys but still they were objects bought in stores nonetheless and it got me thinking lots about the holidays of all my values for giving for homemade for winter nature and phew i'm so thankful i'm hosting the 3rd annual holiday magic ~ not madness next week i hope you'll join us too for simple FUN + MAGIC for less stress and wayyyy less consumerism (and i'll be sharing my fav positive parenting tools for when your kids are over-holidazed :) Join us for |

Hi friends, I write from the heart to tell my life story, and the story of those in my neighborhood called life. Research shows that our children's emotional & mental health is contingent upon us parents being able to tell our life story, or "coherent narrative." This is my coherent narrative, my life story in the making, with some of what I love in life too. My goal is to share my life in a way that is real, uplifting & positive- sometimes serious, sometimes fun. In my practice, I inspire parents to empowerment through reclaiming our life stories and learning respectful discipline. My work is my offering to our children- our future. Wishing you all a happy family! Archives
