i see the man outta the corner of my eye shirt off laying in the sun the sidewalk his home empty despair his disconnect from the rest of us real hello how are you today i say it takes him a minute he's in his own world used to being invisible at best oh good i hear his reply many levels of sadness wash over me because i know him i have parts of me just like him foresaken pieces of human life lost the pain from ones who were supposed to keep us safe somehow i didn't end up like him but my compassion empathy strong because most of us have broken pieces leaving us feeling lost from life later on i sit in the sun like him i feel the broken pieces in my gut i say hello befriending those fragmented pieces of me still trying to make whole i tell myself all those fragmented pieces of me hold on that even if we're broken deep within we're still whole same goes for you even if you have broken pieces you're still whole give those parts of you extra love acceptance so they can heal their presence just like the man who lives on the street we see them we see us we promise to bear witness because life isn't lost together we reach for higher ground from the pain those parts of you feeling homeless lost deep within today practice seeing those broken pieces of you send them love & concern bear witness to their past to honor their part in your whole knowing all the while that the wholeness of you is stronger than any broken pieces take those broken pieces rising stronger in wholeness reaching always towards the sun

Mama Megan
Hi friends, I write from the heart to tell my life story, and the story of those in my neighborhood called life. Research shows that our children's emotional & mental health is contingent upon us parents being able to tell our life story, or "coherent narrative." This is my coherent narrative, my life story in the making, with some of what I love in life too. My goal is to share my life in a way that is real, uplifting & positive- sometimes serious, sometimes fun. In my practice, I inspire parents to empowerment through reclaiming our life stories and learning respectful discipline. My work is my offering to our children- our future. Wishing you all a happy family! Archives
